4 Facts about Diffused Nickel Plating

4 Facts about Diffused Nickel PlatingDiffused nickel plating is the most effective process of nickel coating, most often used in industrial marine equipment. Diffused nickel plating occurs when the encapsulation plating method is performed, resulting in a coating that is highly resistant to corrosion – even more so than high-grade stainless steel, and far less expensive too!
But aside from the fact that it is highly corrosion-resistant, what do we know about diffused nickel plating?

Aluminium or Copper in Manufacturing and Why?

Aluminium or Copper in Manufacturing and Why?Okay so stating the obvious, yes, Copper and Aluminium are indeed both metals but that is probably the only close similarity they both have terms of in properties, appearance, weight, cost and capacitance. It used to be that Aluminium was the metal of choice for many applications but it now seems that Copper has not only made a comeback but has actually taken over which has lead designers and manufacturers to switch over with their choice of metals too.

Is Electroplating What You Need?

Is Electroplating What You Need? One of the most modern forms of metal finishing is that of electroplating. It is most often used in common industries, such as automotive, aerospace, medical, army and electrical. The Copper electroplatingelectroplating process occurs when a metal component which contains metal ions enables the bonding of a metal substrate via electrodeposition.

Heatsink Saving and Nickel Plating

Heatsink Saving and Nickel PlatingThermalright, recently announced their latest heatsink, multilingual Le Grand Macho. It is an amended, upgraded version of the pre-existing HR22. It is more economical for buyers if their budget cannot stretch to the price of the HR22. The trio of metals used are aluminium, pure copper and nickel plating. It has been designed to replace an active stock Intel heatsink during passive operation, creating sufficient air flow. Paired with a fan, the duo work together to dissipate 300W of heat and the copper base creates compatibility with a large array of different processors. AN example of which includes Intel. This new heatsink model will soon be available in the UK and can be ordered in an anodised black or a silver finish.

Bright Future for NiTEC

Bright Future for NiTECThe EU process began in 2008 where it took four years for the sale of incandescent light bulbs to be prevented. They were banned due to their inadequate performance and due to them not being eco-friendly because they consumed such a large amount of electricity. Therefore, they were removed from supermarket shelves and replaced by the well-known LED which are much more efficient.

Electroless Nickel Plating - The Accidental De-scovery

Electroless Nickel Plating - The Accidental De-scoveryDuring analysis of something else entirely, Brenner and Riddell actually resulted in discovering electroless nickel plating purely by mistake. It was in 1946 that they noted the additive NaH2PO2 actually caused cathode efficiencies of 100% and more, in a nickel plating bath, leading them directly to the conclusion that a chemical reduction was indeed taking place.

Second Water Well in Africa to Be Sponsored by NiTEC

Second Water Well in Africa to Be Sponsored by NiTECLast year, NiTEC sponsored a water well for AquAid. The well has since been built in a village out in Africa and is in full working order, providing the community with a much needed source of fresh, clean water. We recently decided to go ahead with the sponsorship of a second well, in the hope of transforming the lives of even more people in Africa. We were really pleased to learn that our last well made a huge difference to people's lives in that village, so we decided to continue with the good work. Obviously, we are very proud to be associated with such an amazing project, and delighted to be able to make such a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

The Effects of Corrosion and Marine Corrosion Prevention

The Effects of Corrosion and Marine Corrosion PreventionMild steel is commonly used for marine applications due to its strength, ease of fabrication and relatively cheap price. The only problem is, mild steel corrodes very easily when exposed to seawater. So when mild steel isn't protected by a corrosion resistant layer or barrier, it quickly loses its strength and can, therefore, result in failure of parts.
